A Sky spokesperson told THR, "21st Century Fox has decided they will no longer broadcast Fox News in the U.K. Sky's customers can still enjoy a wide range of dedicated national and worldwide news channels".

"This decision shows the Murdochs panicking about their bid for Sky".

Culture secretary Karen Bradley has previously said she may refer the bid to competition regulators.

In a surprisingly direct statement, the parent company explained that Fox News is "focused on the USA market and designed for a US audience", so it only managed to average "a few thousand viewers across the day" in the United Kingdom.

Ofcom's initial June review found no grounds for further investigating Fox's commitment to broadcasting standards, yet it raised concerns about the company's approach to ensuring that Fox News complies with the UK's broadcasting code.

The channel, which was available on the Sky platform, was not commercially viable.

Mr Murdoch's media business is hoping to acquire the 61% of Sky it does not already own, raising concerns that this would mean handing the tycoon's family increased influence of the United Kingdom news agenda.

Opponents of Fox's purchase of Sky have argued that the network's right-wing leanings represent a bias in their news coverage.

A spokeswoman said: "Fox has made a decision to cease providing a feed of Fox News Channel in the UK".

For a year, Fox News has had to deal with a massive sexual harassment allegations that escalated under the network's founding chief executive Roger Ailes, who died in May less than a year from his ouster over the matter. However, Bradley and Ofcom's "fit and proper" ruling was seen as a major win for 20th Century Fox. It has been confirmed, Fox News will cease to air in the U.K.as of 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2017.

A coalition of British lawmakers, however, has recently pressured Bradley to take another look at the issue. It's yet more proof that the Murdochs can't be trusted to own 100% of Sky.
