Outside of speakers, the Google Assistant will arrive in appliances from companies like LG later this year too.

The Assistant already supports more than 70 home automation manufacturers, including Honeywell, Netatmo, TP-Link and Wemo, so you can get help with everyday things using your voice. Anker is also behind the Alexa-enabled Eufy Genie, which retails for under $35. It will soon be available in third party devices including the Panasonic GA10, Zolo Mojo by Anker and TicHome Mini by Mobovi.

The news that Google will partner with three new hardware manufacturers supports a growing trend around voice search and the integration of devices with virtual assistants. Google's Home speaker leads in revenue due to its price but Amazon's diverse Echo line wins in shipment numbers. The Panasonic GA10 will be available in at least two colours according to their website. In addition to its own products and Android and iOS devices, Google Assistant will be coming to a range of speakers and home appliances, the company announced at the IFA show in Berlin. But if for some reason your music streaming app is not supported by the Google Assistant, you can still stream via Bluetooth, and it does support the latest version of Bluetooth, version 5. An Anker representative said the Zolo Mojo speaker will have all the same functionality as the Home except for the ability to make phone calls, but that the company expects to add that feature before the end of the year. Google gives examples including asking the speaker how far away the moon is, or to get a play-by-play of your day. You can also already buy other speakers that have Alexa built in.

Inside this speaker you'll find two 20mm tweeters paired with an 8cm woofer to round out the base. They can detect voices from across the room when they hear the wake phrase "OK Google".

The speakers are going to be fairly widely available, with Google announcing that most will be coming to the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany and France. Commands like “Ok Google, start vacuuming” and “Ok Google, are my clothes clean?” should become a routine if you are ready for a Jetsons-like reality.
