  • Forget Tinder you may soon find a match through Facebook messenger

The test appears to be running in New Zealand and Toronto. "He reports that a notification popped up saying, "[Name redacted] and 15 others may want to meet up with you this week". While bare bones and plain, the user interface works similarly to that of Tinder, which also requires both parties to "swipe right" to start connecting. As of now, it is not known whether Messenger users will have an option to opt out of it. And the only reason you keep Facebook active is to have a Tinder and Bumble, even though everyone you meet via these apps are psychos or starving artists (or both, most likely).

Facebook already knows your friends, friends of friends and basically everything you like.

A new way to meet up is being tested by Facebook for their Messenger application. Do let us know if this feature is appearing on your Facebook Messenger app too.

In order to do so, Facebook has randomly picked a few Facebook users and tried testing out this new feature. We believe that Facebook is better with current Friends of Friends and " People you may know" suggestions. A Facebook spokesperson told Motherboard, "People often use Facebook to make plans with their friends". It seems that the new feature may be used to convince Facebook friends that rarely interact in person to get out in the real world and meet each other, but whether the new feature will be a success is yet to be seen.

In other Facebook news, Instagram is testing a new story sharing feature. The company already has 2 billion monthly active users (as of June 30, 2017) and there's certainly room to add a feature to help those users meet up. If you both said Yes, Facebook will announce you. Contacted by Motherboard, the company founded by Mark Zuckerberg has made it clear that he was not really dating nature lovers or sexual, as Tinder, but to encourage the friends to Facebook to see in real life.
