Giants WR Odell Beckham: Going in the right direction

16 September, 2017, 01:23 | Author: Sylvester Abbott
  • EAST RUTHERFORD NJ- AUGUST 11 New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown talk prior to the Preseason National Football League game between the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers

He told reporters that his injury, which occurred during an August preseason game against the Cleveland Browns, has been given a six- to eight-week timeline.

The Giants' star wide receiver participated in practice for the first time since spraining his left ankle in the team's August 21 preseason game against the Browns. "I'm working my best to get to 100 (percent), so once I do get there, there won't be any more problems". The days we have off, you're here at 10 o'clock for treatment. Beckham on Thursday not only warmed up with his teammates, but - for the first time - he participated in the Protect the Duke ball-security drill that always comes right after the warmup and stretching period. "Going in the right direction", he said. Beckham's speed was noticeably slower and he had difficulty coming in and out of his routes.

The 24-year-old Beckham's availability for Monday night's game against the Detroit Lions remains in question.

Beckham was held out of Sunday's game after a pregame workout in front of the training staff, coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese.

Without Beckham, the Giants offense looked downright putrid against Dallas.

While Beckham will likely be listed by the team as a limited participant, he did not appear to be dealing with any limitation due to his ankle.
