It looks like common sense has won out with word that Patty Jenkins has finally signed a record breaking deal to return to the Director's chair and co write the sequel to WONDER WOMAN! "You want to do a movie like this because you believe in it", she told Entertainment Weekly. The film has grossed over Rs 25 crore at the Indian box office.

Joining her is actress Gal Gadot to reprise her role as the titular character.

The Wonder Woman sequel was confirmed last month at San Diego Comic-Con and a 13 December 2019 release date was also announced.

Jenkins has been up-front about how she feels about getting back into the director's chair.

Making Wonder Woman a period piece set in World War I was also a risk, but it all paid off handsomely for Warner Bros. and DC. Clearer heads theorized that Jenkins was simply knee-deep in negotiations to ensure that she got a much higher payday this time around, which is why it's taken this long for the deal to materialize. There is one particular part of the movie where Diana comes to a realization with music playing in the background, and the audience feels more intrigued and amazed. The others are Marvel movies, Avengers: Age of Ultron (number 3, with $459 million), and The Avengers (still number 1, with $623 million). And the massive female audience who made the film a hit can surely choose and judge their own icons of progress'. So its success put her in a position of power, giving her all the cards she needed when she came to the negotiating table.

After Wonder Woman 2 was confirmed a couple months ago, Jenkins had teased that the superhero might be seen in the USA this time. It's the fourth installment from the DC Universe, following 2013's Man Of Steel, 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and lastly Suicide Squad.
