Palestinian rivals Fatah and Hamas dispatched teams to Egypt on Monday for talks in a renewed push to end their decade-long split after a key breakthrough last week.

The negotiations, sponsored by Egypt, are to start Tuesday.

The new rounds of dialogue between the two sides came following the visit of the Palestinian consensus government and the Palestinian security chiefs to the Gaza Strip, where Hamas handed over the ministries to the government's prime minister Rami Hamdallah and his ministers.

An IDF force caught two Palestinians sneaking into Israel from the Gaza Strip on Sunday.

"We will not go back to division in any way", Mr Sinwar said on Sunday night ahead of the trip. In June 2014, a Hamas cell in the West Bank kidnapped and murdered Israeli teenagers Eyal Yifrach, Gil-ad Shaar, and Naftali Fraenkel and Israeli authorities suspected al-Arouri of coordinating the abductions.

The IDF Spokesperson Unit said that the rocket exploded in Gaza territory and stated that the attack constitutes a threat to the security of Israeli citizens.

The border with Gaza has been fairly quiet in recent months.

The boots were discovered after authorities at the Kerem Shalom Crossing stopped an Israeli truck carrying a large shipment of "slippers" after it aroused suspicion. Commander, Col. Fares Atilla, the smuggling attempt that was thwarted "is another attempt by the Hamas terror organization to abuse Israel's policy towards the civilian residents of the Gaza Strip".

Hamas is considered a terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union, and Israel has said it would reject any reconciliation agreement in which Hamas didn't disarm.
