  • The brave agent'herded the shark into shallow water and then bent over to pick it

A shark in the oak park pool!

If you're Melissa Hatheier, real estate agent and deadset Aussie legend, you calmly wrestle that shark from the pool and fling it back into the ocean, apparently, all without seeming to break a sweat.

"So I came down, there was a bit of a crew here, and had a look and he was a little Port Jackson and was doing laps of the pool", she told Channel 9's Today show, according to The Telegraph.

She is then seen casually reaching into the water and pulling the deadly shark out of the water on its back, reaching over the rock pool and placing it in the ocean.

Her daughter Shannon captured video of the rescue, and the footage has made Hatheier a hero, as well as a viral sensation. And they didn't know what to do.

She added: "I thought, as long as I keep my hand near its fins it couldn't bite me; I wouldn't have grabbed it by the tail though".

The clip was captioned, "Our in house Shark Wrangler Melissa Hatheier wrestling a shark out of Oak Park Rock Pool yesterday morning!"

'I thought, you know what - if i can just herd him into the shallows I think I can pick him up. "I just dived on him".

"I was feeling sorry for him", she said.

By holding the bronze whaler upside down, Ms Hatheier put the shark into a state of paralysis called "tonic immobility", meaning she could safely move it without putting herself in danger.

"I picked him up and thought 'he's not even that heavy".
