Nicki Minaj's Brother Found Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting A Child

  • Nicki Minaj's brother was just found guilty in his child rape trial... a case that lasted nearly 3 weeks

The Long Island newspaper, Newsday, reported that Maraj, 38, was convicted of a felony charge of predatory sexual assault on a child and endangering her welfare.

The prosecutor said DNA evidence recovered from the girl's pajama trousers was linked to Maraj.

"Justice demanded that this defendant be held accountable for these heinous acts and we are thankful to the jury for their careful deliberation", said Nassau County's DA Madeline Singas in a statement.

The girl said that Maraj would call her "puppet" and told her that she had no say in what happens to her.

A defense lawyer claimed that the girl's mother created a "shakedown".

Schwartz also said she planted DNA evidence to frame the man she accused of raping her child just months after they got married in April 2015.

Minaj has not spoken on the verdict.

Soon after his arrest in 2015, Maraj was released from custody on $100,000 bail, reportedly backed by two of his sister's homes. His lawyer has said he will appeal the judgment.

The girl, now 14, testified in excruciating detail about sexual assaults that she said occurred as frequently as four times a week and sometimes twice a day, mostly when Maraj was home alone with the girl.

He has denied allegations suggesting he repeatedly abused his then-pre-teen stepdaughter in the months leading up to his December, 2015 arrest.

The Associated Press does not identify alleged victims of sexual assault, and is not identifying the girl's mother in order to protect her daughter's identity. Initial reports claimed she would testify in her brother's defense, but she ended up not doing so. He said Maraj confronted him a short time later, slapping him several times across the face and telling him he would never see his mother again if he told anyone what he had witnessed. He will be sentenced on 14 December.

A scientist stated that a stain on a pair of the pajamas belonging to the young girl was a 1 in 291 billion matches to Maraj.

James R. Ray III, the previous defence attorney in the case, was sacked for demanding $25 million from Maraj following his arrest to settle a potential lawsuit.
