Capture sworn statements expressed that Mr. Mathews asserted be have been endeavoring to get Sherin to drink some drain, however that she was not collaborating.

Wesley Mathews, Sherin's father, was also arrested after admitting he watched his daughter choke on milk.

Sini, a nurse who works at Children's Medical Center Dallas, could face different or additional charges, Perlich said on the case which has been widely reported in the worldwide media. The couple's older daughter remains in foster care.

He said when he could no longer feel Sherin's pulse he "believed she had died" and removed the body from the house. An itemized restaurant receipt showed that the family only purchased two adult dinners and one child's meal. A waiter at the restaurant who served the Mathews confirmed to police that only one child had been present.

During an interview with detectives, Wesley Mathews, 37, admitted to leaving Sherin home alone after growing frustrated she wouldn't drink her milk and said they returned home about 90 minutes later and found her where they left her, in the kitchen.

The abandonment charges center around investigators belief that Sini left Sherin home alone for more than an hour, while the rest of the family went to a restaurant in Garland and ate dinner.

Hours later, on the morning of October 7, Wesley Mathews called police and reported Sherin missing.

Earlier this week, Wesley Mathews' attorney, David Kleckner, said his client loves his children and wife and that he's a good family man who wants custody of their surviving daughter to be returned to her mother.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the cause of death. "Those results will be made available when complete", Richardson Police said in a Facebook post.

The Richardson Police Department in Texas has arrested and charged Sini Mathews with "Abandoning or Endangering a Child" a charge that amounts to a State Jail Felony. The crime is punishable with up to 99 years in prison.

He initially told cops he ordered Sherin to stand outside next to a tree at around 3 a.m., and that he didn't know her location after she vanished overnight. Wesley Mathews - who confessed that he watched Sherin choke on her milk around 3 a.m. October 7 morning and then disposed of her dead body outside the home - has been charged with felony child endangerment and faces a life sentence.
