  • Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 Content Roadmap Announced

During yesterday's Rainbow 6 Siege Season 3, Year 2 Pro League tournament, Ubisoft revealed its plans for next year's content.

Year 3's first season will kick off with Operation Chimera, which features two new operators from France and Russian Federation, and the "Outbreak-event" - Rainbow Six Siege's first co-op event ever.

Rainbow Six Siege is a game that does content right; to that effect, it's bringing even more content almost three years after its release. Playing during Outbreak will allow players to unlock cosmetic items that are exclusive to the event.

The full reveal of Operation Chimera and Outbreak will take place in Montreal at the Six Invitational 2018.

As with previous content updates, Year 3 will be split into four seasons, each adding two new operatives and new maps.

After that, it'll disappear, and we don't yet know if the mode will be returning in the three other seasons for Rainbow Six Siege spread across 2018. While zombies haven't explicitly been mentioned, the Operator's biohazard specialty and the use of "Outbreak" hints toward some sort of zombie encounter. You can check out the Year 3 roadmap below. "Four weeks of co-op, three players against something you may full expect".

As for the rest of the content to expect throughout the game's third year, Season 2 will feature Italy, Season 3 will rework an existing map (please let it be Yacht) and have USA and United Kingdom operators, and Season 4 will be set in Morocco. Additionally, an existing map will be reworked for this season, bringing "considerable changes to level design and art direction". For the first time in a Rainbow Six game, players will engage in sieges, a new style of assault where enemies have the means to transform their environments into modern strongholds while Rainbow Six teams lead the assault to breach the enemy's position.
