Four dead after Moscow bus ploughs into underpass

At least four people have been killed and a further 15 injured in a terrifying bus crash in Russian Federation.

The bus following the rout Slavic Boulevard -Skolkovo belonging to Mostransavto transportation service drove into the underground passage next to 2, Slavic Boulevard building in Moscow. Their primary version of what happened is a technical malfunction that caused the bus to veer off the road and down the stairway.

"According to preliminary information, five people died".

"The driver of the bus began movement and then changed his trajectory, which resulted in the bus going down into the pedestrian underpass", the statement said.

The tragedy, which unfolded near the Slavyansky Bulvar metro station at 2:50 p.m. local time, also left 15 people injured, officials said.

At least four people are said to have died after a bus came off the road and hurtled down a set of stairs leading to a metro station.

It is not clear what caused the crash but Russian media said the driver had been detained after he lost control of the vehicle.

The underpass and surrounding area were cordoned off and several black body bags could be seen on the pavement, partially covered with falling snow.

Sobyanin has vowed to conduct a "thorough" probe into the deadly accident.
