Fox fires Bryan Singer from Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody

However, the movie's Christmas Day release might become untenable since after 20th Century Fox halted production on the biopic last week, listing Bryan Singer's "unavailability" as the vague reason, and now the studio has officially fired Singer from the film, as of Monday night.

Bryan Singer has accused Fox of refusing to give him time off to deal with health issues of one of his parents, which is why he says he was sacked from Queen biopic "Bohemian Rhapsody".

While Singer's behavior lead to him being dropped from Bohemian Rhapsody, he apparently continues to evade repercussions for the sexual misconduct allegations - an unusual anomaly in the current climate of Hollywood, where studios are instantly distancing themselves from anyone who comes under scrutiny.

According to the publication trouble on set began when Singer was MIA during production. In a statement, they said simply Singer "is no longer the director of Bohemian Rhapsody".

With just over two weeks of principal photography left to wrap up the film, Fox may tap an insider to complete it rather than seek an outside director. Previously, Malek complained to the studio of Singer's unprofessionalism.

On Sunday, production on the film was suspended after the director failed to show up to set.

Additionally, Tom Hollander (About Time, In The Loop), who plays Queen's manager in the movie, quit the production for a short time, also in relation to Singer's on-set behaviour. During the times when he went missing, cinematographer Thomas Newton Sigel was asked to step in to shoot some scenes.

It's said that Singer was suffering from post-traumatic stress due to the incidents that happened on the set of the film. There are still two more weeks of filming left on the schedule, so expect them to move fast to find a replacement, as the film remains slated for December 2018.

Now, Singer has accused 20th Century Fox of not allowing him to take time off to care for his ill parent.

Also, Singer's production company Bad Hat Harry has been removed entirely from the Fox production offices, following decades of profitable work, especially involving the X-Men franchise, of which Singer had directed four of the entries.
