School has been canceled tomorrow for all schools in the Aztec School District.

At least three people have been killed in a shooting early Thursday morning at Aztec High School in Colorado.

As the noise got louder and closer, school officials issued a warning over the loud speaker.

Parker says he's thankful his teacher always locks the classroom door. "When they called over the intercom that it was not a drill, we went to the corner of the room out of sight from the door and just started hiding".

According to another news outlet citing Aztec Police Chief Mike Heal, two people plus the shooter were shot, but did not specify whether the two people shot were students or adults. New Mexico Police said via Twitter the shooter was among the the deceased. Students were taken to another location.

Other schools in the area were also locked down. Authorities say it could be a few hours before the lockdowns are lifted.

This story will be updated as more information about the shooting becomes available. The investigation is now being led by the New Mexico State Police, with support from the FBI.

Authorities are responding to a shooting at a high school in northwest New Mexico.

The sheriff's office urged people to avoid the area and confirmed the school was evacauted. It was also unclear from the report whether the three were injured or killed.
