  • Details such as the Cobra logo are all Ford has revealed so far about the new Shelby GT500

Its unveiling of the revived 2019 Ranger made pickup fans' day; now it's muscle vehicle fanatics' turn to cheer, with the launch of the long-awaited Mustang Bullitt and the announcement of the new 2019 Shelby GT500. Well today the good folks over at Ford are back in the news, updating the legendary Bullitt Mustang and unleashing a look at The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt. The '66 Shelby is Lot 1406, and bids open Saturday, while the '87 Buick GNX goes up as Lot 1327 Saturday.

While Barrett-Jackson's site doesn't have an anticipated price for this special-edition 'Stang, it should warm your icy, cold heart to know that 100 percent of the auction's proceeds will go to charity. The new Ford Mustang Bullitt, due out this summer for the United States customers is powered by an upgraded 5.0-litre V8 engine that will deliver at least 474 bhp and 569Nm of torque, pushing to a top speed of 262 kmph. The nonsectarian school and treatment community for troubled youngsters has guided more than 30,000 at-risk teenage boys and girls, including Steve McQueen, who graduated from the facility in 1946. It's also unclear just how numerous special edition cars Ford plans to make.

Under the hood the Bullitt Mustang comes with an upgraded 5.0-liter V8 off the Mustang GT delivering "at least" 475 horsepower (354 kilowatts) and 420 pound-feet (569 Newton-meters) of torque.

The all-new Mustang Bullitt is equipped with a manual transmission, and the gear shifter features a white cue ball shift knob as a nod to the original.
