  • ESPN Warns Katie Nolan About Her 'Inappropriate' Comments; Called Donald Trump 'F*cking Stupid & Retard' (VIDEO)

During an appearance on Viceland's "Desus & Mero", Nolan called President Donald Trump a "f*cking stupid person".

ESPN declined to comment to Sporting News about Nolan when the situation was brought up to them.

Appearing Wednesday night on the almost two-year-old Vice Media channel, Nolan and the comedy duo of Desus Nice and The Kid Mero were discussing hand gestures and memes that could be associated with white supremacists.

ESPN announced today that it has hired Emmy-winning sports personality Katie Nolan.

ESPN issued revised guidelines on social media and political commentary late past year.

Hill received backlash for the tweets in which she called Trump a white supremacist who surrounds himself with other white supremacists, and the most offensive president of her lifetime. The first insult she used for him is bleeped out, but then she added that he is a "fucking stupid person".

Jemele Hill made her comments in October, 2017, and was suspended by the network.

While Nolan's comments occured on a talk show and not on Twitter or Facebook, her attempt to quickly explain away her outburst may have been due in part to ESPN's social media guidelines for journalists.

Nolan mentioned that she had the flu when she made the comments.

ESPN's new guidelines say employees "should refrain from overt partisanship or endorsement of particular candidates, politicians or political parties" while avoiding "personal attacks and inflammatory rhetoric".

But Nolan's comments don't technically violate the social media guidelines since they were not delivered on social media.

Nolan began working at ESPN in mid-October after a four-year stint at Fox Sports.
