The body was found in a pond off Peabridge Road. "We greatly appreciate the landowner's cooperation".

The FBI believes the boy's body was discovered in a pond off Pea Bridge Road in Laurinburg, NC. An Amber Alert was issued, and more than 300 law enforcement officers, EMTs, fire departments, and volunteers from two states converged on the tiny town, trying to find some trace of the missing child.

An FBI spokeswoman said in an email that authorities would begin draining the pond Saturday.

Scotland County Sheriff Ralph Kersey said earlier this week Raul has wandered off before, even going missing for about 25 minutes Tuesday.

"I just couldn't believe it when he called me".

The FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team, a group of experts in the field of missing children, has assisted in the search. Spokeswoman Shelley Lynch also says about 150 people will search about 30 sites near the Scotland County home of Raul Gonzalez Johnson, who hasn't been seen since Wednesday. More than a dozen ground search teams combed the area Friday. An elderly neighbor who gives the boy cookies and snacks every morning said he walked over to her house as usual on Weds., then walked away when she told him to go home. On Thursday, the Scotland County sheriff said the search shifted from a search or recovery to an "investigative side".

"Until we get something that indicates that there's no hope. we'll continue to do what we're doing now", Kersey said. "Raul is still considered missing ... and that's where we are at this moment", Kersey said.

Raul Johnson is an Indian male, approximately 3-feet tall and weighing 47 pounds. He was last seen wearing white and orange tiger striped shirt with tigers on it and white trousers with rocket ships printed on them.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Raul Gonzalez is asked to call the Scotland County Sheriff's Office at 910-276-3385, or call 911.
