Mourinho hails Sanchez as one of the world's best

Chilean star Alexis Sanchez could make his eagerly anticipated debut for United after the forward completed his move from Arsenal on Monday, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving in the opposite direction.

One area of uncertainty around Sanchez's move to United had been regarding where on the pitch Mourinho is likely to play him, but the Portuguese coach has cleared that up, stating he is confident in the 29-year-old's ability in any position across the front.

"We have set very high standards - winning three trophies in one season (including the Community Shield) - but those are the standards I expect my teams to aim for".

Mourinho has overseen a period of excessive spending since taking over at Old Trafford, with the arrival of several big-money signings, including Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

Everyone knows he's a fantastic player, he's an assist king. "He looks like an Arsenal player with the way he likes to play and the way Arsenal like to play". "I believe Mkhi is going to be even better than he was with us", United's manager said.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker is expected to make his Arsenal bow against Swansea City next Tuesday and he is eager to play alongside World Cup victor Ozil in the north London giants' midfield.

City won't lose sleep over one transfer, however, and now lie 12 points ahead of their city rivals at the summit of the Premier League after 24 matches.

"Could he perform better with us?"

"I saw him play very well on the left and on the right and behind striker". Could I take more from his talent? "Maybe, but he did important things for us and I think there's a good feeling for everyone".

Manchester United have won three previous meetings with the Glovers - all of which came in the FA Cup - and scored 13 goals without conceding in the process.

The Red Devils also lifted the EFL Cup under Mourinho's guidance last term, while they are the closest challengers to neighbours Manchester City in the Premier League, although the gap sits at a massive 12 points.

In the first half we gave them too much respect and we were a bit scared to really go for it, and we suffered from that, said Wenger.
