  • UPDATE: US's Trump Warns EU On Trade, Would Take Tougher Brexit Stance

Last year Trump was met with fierce criticism in the United Kingdom and U.S. after he re-tweeted anti-Muslim videos posted by Jayda Franzen, deputy leader of the far-right group Britain First.

"You know, I won many categories of women and the women vote in the election, and people were shocked to see it", Trump said in the interview.

He wrote: "The moment I invite President Trump to be Arsenal's new manager - because he'd build a strong defensive wall, have an attacking philosophy & want to win big trophies at all costs".

Trump was also questioned about his Twitter usage during the interview, and explained that he really is the one sending the tweets seen across the world.

However, despite most reaction on Twitter being positive, there are some who are criticising Morgan for not "ripping him apart" as he does other guests on his morning show.

Mr Trump also suggested he predicted Brexit.

Trump shored up his pro-female stance by arguing women supported him at the ballot box. And I think you know that very well because you know me because you've spent a long period of time with me.

Mr Trump also claimed Mrs May invited him to the United Kingdom twice this year during their meeting at the Swiss ski resort. "I mean, I think that would be, maybe, going too far", he told the ITV reporter. I think women really like that.

Full interview, Sunday, ITV, 10pm. "I knew it was going to be special", Morgan later gushed.

President Trump asserted he has "tremendous respect for women" and touted the economic opportunities women enjoy under his administration.

"Well, they are. But this was - I didn't do it".

Piers recorded an interview with President Donald Trump on Thursday. And I think I would do even better right now. I love Scotland. One of the biggest problems I have in winning - I won't be able to get back there so often.

He added: "He tells me: "No, I wouldn't say I'm a feminist".

After the White House leader claimed that he "wouldn't say" he is a feminist, social media users took to Twitter to throw a lot of shade.

Trump then diverted somewhat, preferring to focus on the perceived success of his presidency to date. "And women are doing great, and I'm happy about that".

"I would have had a different attitude", he said of the talks, which have followed Britain's June 2016 referendum vote to leave the European Union, and will continue through to its planned departure in March 2019.
