  • Trump Denies Saying He Has Good Relationship with Kim Jong-un

President Trump tweeted this morning accusing the Wall Street Journal of maliciously misreporting a statement he made in a recent interview.

At issue: Whether Trump said "I probably have a good relationship with Kim Jong-un", or "I'd probably have a good relationship with Kim Jong-un".

The story comes just a day after he allegedly used the term "shithole" to describe Haiti, El Salvador and several countries in Africa during an immigration meeting with lawmakers on Thursday. I said "I'd have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un", a big difference.

South and North Korea will hold working-level talks this week to work out details on the North's participation in next month's Winter Olympic Games, the unification ministry said Sunday.

The Wall Street Journal, however, defended its version of the interview.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted out Saturday evening that the Journal's reporting was "fake news".

When pressed on whether he has spoken to Kim, Trump said, "I don't want to comment on it-I don't want to comment, I'm not saying I have or I haven't". "I think you people are surprised".

Trump then asked aloud why "the pretty Korean lady" wasn't working on the North Korean nuclear crisis, NBC News reported, citing "two officials with direct knowledge of the exchange". "Fortunately we now record conversations with reporters", he tweeted. Kim has responded by describing the U.S. president a "mentally deranged USA dotard". It helps them keep up their faux war with the media, and I guess that's all that matters.

It also released the portion of the audio disputed by the White House. They don't even try to get it right, or correct it when they are wrong.

Mr. Trump: I don't want to comment on it-I don't want to comment, I'm not saying I have or I haven't.

Washington and Pyongyang are in a standoff over North Korea's missile and nuclear programs, which could be used to target the United States and its allies.
