In the heart of Macerata town in Italy, over four individuals were reportedly wounded when no less than a gunman started a shooting attack from a vehicle.
The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Italian, Luca Traini, who has no previous record but according to reports confessed to shooting from inside the black Alfa Romeo.
According to the Il Resto del Carlino newspaper, the man - a 28-year-old local with links to the populist Northern League - fired his first shots around the Via dei Velini area and then proceeded to drive his black Alfa Romeo 147 vehicle around the city centre, targeting immigrants.
The man opened fire in a series of drive-by shootings from a auto in the city of Macerata wounding some seven people including one woman, according to local media.
Police said one of the six victims was seriously hurt and needed surgery but gave no further details.
Police said in a tweet that "the wounded persons are of foreign nationality".
As the violent attack unfolded in Macerata in Italy's central Marche region, police told residents to stay inside and ordered a halt to public transport to limit the casualties. They are running against Matteo Renzi's much-splintered centre-left Democratic Party and the populist 5-Star Movement.
Police said a suspect was held two hours after the shooting began at about 11 a.m.local time. The chief suspect in that crime is a 29-year-old Nigerian.
The Italian police gave a chase to the auto and later caught the gunman while the passenger has fled and the police were trying to trace him.
Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni said Italy would come down heavily on anyone promoting violence. "As was grave what happened to Pamela", Carancini said. "Whether or not you agree with the government's immigration policies, we must not stoke violence", he said.
"What was this worm still doing in Italy?"
Witnesses said they had earlier seen Oseghale with the suitcases in which the body was found. Polls show a center-right bloc that includes the Northern League and Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia could win the most seats but would not be able to form a working majority.
