NBA All-Star Weekend Contestants Announced

  • Gordon Hoping Third Time's A Charm in Dunk Contest

Gordon has declared that this will be his last dunk contest and is looking to make up for his disappointment from past year.

Both Gordon and Oladipo have finished second in previous years, while Larry Nance Jr. will be looking to follow in his father's footsteps, with Nance Sr. winning the first ever National Basketball Association dunk contest in 1984.

They will go up against first-time participants Los Angeles Lakers' Larry Nance Jr. and Dallas Mavericks' Dennis Smith Jr.

So it can be a bit of a coin flip, and it might not be until the first or second round gets underway when we know what kind of show we'll be in store for.

Gordon is making his third appearance. I spent a lot of time growing up in the Bay [Area]. So.

The musical lineup for the Adidas #747WarehouseSt NBA All-Star event has been announced and it's looking pretty good. Apart from the unreal bounce and sheer athleticism that got him drafted fourth overall in 2014, Gordon also brings a creativity and flair to his contest dunks.

But here's the thing: Oladipo has also been in the dunk contest before- in 2015 in Brooklyn- and was, in my opinion, a legitimate dissapointment.

In a photo posted on the Lakers' official Twitter account, Nance Jr. gave his father plenty of praise with his epic shirt selection. The Staples Center should be going wild in support of the third-year forward (who is quietly putting together a terrific season).

Mavs rookie Dennis Smith Jr. will compete in the 2018 slam dunk contest! Jr. absolutely posterized Lopez into oblivion that December night.

All-Star Weekend has officially taken shape.
