  • Congress chief Rahul Gandhi is greeted by a visitor after meeting President Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi on Friday

The Congress in Karnataka led by Siddaramaiah had walked the talk and followed the principles of Guru Basavanna while Modi had failed on this count, said Mr Gandhi.

Earlier, while addressing a public meeting at Karatagi in Karnataka's Koppal district, Rahul Gandhi urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to waive loans of farmers than working only for the rich, businessmen and industrialists. During the "Janashirvada Yatra" in the state, Gandhi also walked out of the bus and walked some distance on foot along with Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and KPCC President G Parameshwara while the crowds tried to get close to him.

"Amit Shah ji said Rahul ji's style of politics is undemocratic".

In a tit for tat, the party criticised Mr. Gandhi for not speaking on the Mahadayi dispute.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi hits back at Arun Jaitley over his false remarks pertaining to the non-revelation of the price of the defence purchases made during the UPA regime.

Stating that Congress has faced huge setbacks and BJP has won wherever Rahul Gandhi has campaigned in the past, BSY said, "His arrival is like arrival of good fortune for BJP". BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa said in a tweet.

Tearing into Modi's claims on development, Rahul advised the PM to learn from Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on how to run the Government. "But still Modiji comes here and speaks about corruption against us", he said. "It is going to be five years and you have not even opened your account".

Stepping up his attack on the BJP, Gandhi said while the Siddaramaiah government had a scam-free record, the BJP had broken "world record" in graft in Karnataka.

Gandhi alleged that Modi had "personally" changed the contract during his visit to France to give it to a "friend" and said the prime minister had not answered the three questions posed by him on the deal.
