  • Woman gives birth and leaves note after abandoning infant son in Arizona airport bathroom as authorities ask for public's help in identifying her

A rental auto employee discovered the baby boy in the bathroom with a note from his mother on his chest.

The Tucson Airport Authority discharged film this seven day stretch of the lady strolling through the air terminal when the baby was deserted on January 14, and are hoping to discover her identity.

He remains in the care of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

A custodian told police she saw the woman holding the baby inside the restroom and that there were pools of blood on the floor.

The newborn was found inside the bathroom with a torn umbilical cord and a note. "Please get me to the authorities so they can find a good home", it said, in part.

The note left with the tyke read, "Please help me". It continues: "I just want what is best for him and it's not me".

Authorities described the mystery woman as being aged in her mid-20s and said she was wearing black leggings and a coat.

The Tucson Airport Authority is searching for a woman who they believe abandoned a newborn at Tucson International Airport. The caller said someone had left the child with a note in the bathroom and that she was wrapped in a blanket. The custodian also found bloody clothes in a trash can.

The baby was then taken to a nearby hospital and is said to be in a healthy condition.

The note then switches to what appears to be a plea and apology from the mother. Authorities have not yet filed any criminal charges, according to the Arizona Daily Star. "We would like to know who she is but we've exhausted our resources", an airport authority explained to the Washington Post.

Arizona has a "safe haven" law, meaning a newborn - no more than 3 days old - can be left at hospitals, churches, fire houses and similar locations. There are a lot of different things that are probably going through a mother's mind.
