Industries adding jobs last month included professional and business services, with 13,200 more positions.

The highest growth sectors for IN in January were construction and trade, transportation and utilities. The private service-providing sector added 28,000 jobs. The state's growth rate was 0.8 percent for the year that ended in February, compared with a national rate of 1.6 percent.

"We have maintained a wage and salary employment count of over two million for eleven months in a row now", Labor Secretary Fitzgerald Washington said in a written release. Over the year, Construction has gained 10,700 (+7.2%) jobs.

The number of workers unemployed in OH in February was 262,000, down 9,000 from 271,000 in January.

Black unemployment in the state fell to 6.9 percent in February, from 7.4 percent the month before and 8.5 percent in February 2017. Over the year, Other Services are up 2,600 (+1.9 percent) jobs. This measures the share of the population that is neither employed nor actively seeking work. The labor force participation rate, the share of working age population employed and unemployed, was 65.4 percent.

The nation's employment-to-population ratio was 60.4 percent, up 0.3 of a percentage point from January.
