  • Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman blocks a pass intended for New York Giants wide receiver Tavarres King in the first quarter at Met Life Stadium

After seven seasons, four Pro Bowls, and a Super Bowl victory, their time together may not last much longer.

Cornerback Richard Sherman is rumored to have been traded from the Seattle Seahawks and will be patrolling the secondary in a different National Football League stadium come the 2018 regular season. Coach Pete Carroll said at the time that Sherman was expected to be ready for the lineup in time for training camp.

Any talks with the Seahawks regarding his future in Seattle will continue while Sherman is in Las Vegas.

In all likelihood, this means the Seahawks will release Sherman, who likely wouldn't sign with another team until later this summer when he's healthy enough to pass a physical.

And safety Kam Chancellor posted on Instagram to thank Sherman for granting him the nickname, "Chancellor of Operations".

"That text message got my heart hurting... damn 25 was my Dawg #WhatsNext" Lane tweeted.

Sherman, 29, was subject of trade rumors during the 2017 offseason but ultimately remained with the Seahawks.

Not to mention, the status of Kayvon Webster being ready for the start of the 2018 season is still up in the air as well since, just like Sherman, the cornerback suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon as well, only his happened in December.

The cornerback announced last month he would forgo an agent and represent himself heading in to the final year of his contract.

Sherman has a $11 million base salary and a $13.2 million cap hit in 2018.

Both Sherman and Bennett were with the Seahawks during the team's Super Bowl XLVIII championship.
