Police arrest 12-year-old boy strolling with loaded AR-15

Police identified one of the suspects as 21-year old Erika Dyer, who was found hiding in the bathroom and was also arrested.

About 3:21 p.m. Sunday, Helene Doss, 53, of the 400 block of South Joliet Street, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery, reckless driving and obstructing justice in connection with the incident. Authorities say a 19-year-old man carrying a handgun moreover was arrested.

The 19-year-old faces charges including terroristic threatening and corruption of a minor. The police registered cases against them and launched investigation.

The 32-year-old eventually ended up on Interstate 435 before stopping on a ramp at Wornall Road.

Police say the woman called her son and narrated her ordeal and he in turn reported the matter to Kayole police station. Police declined to specify the type of instruments. Keith Jones, another person who was still inside the vehicle, then allegedly fled in the auto, police said.

The vehicle failed to stop and was monitored by police across the Ballarat area.

Charges are being sought.
