Warriors' Patrick McCaw Released from Hospital a Day After Scary Fall

  • Warriors' Patrick McCaw injury update: MRI shows McCaw is 'structurally sound' after scary fall

Luckily, order was restored when the Warriors (55-21) returned to their Jedi-like state and finished off the Suns (19-58) from the high ground Sunday evening, 117-107.

McCaw was soaring high for a possible dunk with 41.8 seconds left in the third quarter when Sacramento legend and dunk star Vince Carter bumped his right shoulder into McCaw's left leg. McCaw fell to the floor in pain and rolled around on the ground before being tended to by anxious teammates, trainers and Golden 1 Center medical personnel who quickly arrived at the scene.

"I just hope he's OK", the veteran Carter noted. He has a bright future.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was upset and heard telling the ref, "I'm not mad at you".

McCaw was transported to UC Davis for further evaluation.

Carter told reporters it was an accident. He would remain on the court for about 10 minutes laying sideways, leaving the fans in the arena as well as the teams and their personnel in shock.

Dragan Bender got loose for four 3's, some guy named Alec Peters played 12 minutes a rained in a 3, and another guy name Danuel House went And-1 mixtape on them, throwing the ball to himself off the backboard for a dunk. While McCaw was being attended to, players from both teams huddled together to pray for the second-year player.

More information is expected to come regarding Patrick McCaw's injury as the team provides an MRI update. But the good news? Steph Curry is already out for the remainder of the regular season and the first round of the postseason, while Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are just trying to make it to late April without any impactful ailment. With the Suns going small Sunday, head coach Steve Kerr is starting Kevon Looney at center over Zaza Pachulia and JaVale McGee. "I don't believe it was intentional at all", Durant said after Saturday's game. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at Vince. "He's never been that type of guy", said Green. "So he snapped, but it happens, and I didn't feel like it was a teamwide thing". A guy jumps and he didn't touch him much if you're as high as you can jump you lose your balance easier. "I know that was tough on Vince".
