Washington Track Teams Place Fourth at Lindenwood

With six of the 12 South Iowa Cedar League boys' track teams in the Class B division and four others in the Class A division of the meet, Lynnville-Sully has another early gauge on how it will stack up against conference competition.

The three athletes who qualified last season for the Herd were the most since 2013 when Marshall sent four athletes competing in seven events individually and a relay to the regional meet.

Around the rest of the lineup, the Lakers will look to: Todd (100, 200, 4 x 100, discus); junior Bryson Breeze (100, 200, 4 x 100, javelin); junior Jacob Peterson (800, 1,500, 4 x 400); junior Javas Wray (1,500); sophomore Sam Palmer (1,500, 3,000); sophomore Matthew Zimmerman (400, 800, 1,500, 3,000); Lantow (javelin); junior Eli Lewis (javelin); Harvey (long jump, high jump, triple jump); junior Fred Harding (long jump, high jump, triple jump); Bracken (110 high hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles, 4 x 100, long jump); Bassett (100, 4 x 100, intermediate hurdles, high jump); junior Peyton Allworth (pole vault, javelin); and freshman Harry Canfield (pole vault, high jump, javelin, high hurdles).

Savannah Wells placed 6th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.58 seconds.

Sophomore Rylie Williams ran a 1:05.43 in the 400-meter dash, taking third. He finished the race in 17.38. Palacio-Lewis, Graybill, Emily Williamson and Juliette Delmotte posted the L-L League's top time in the 4x100-meter relay (49.5) while Cassidy Kline, who won both hurdles events, Graybill, Williamson and Delmotte finished the 4x400-meter relay with a win at a leaue-best time of 4:14.3.

Central (Macon) was the girls meet champion with 114 points while Pike County finished in third place with 88.66 points.

Bleidt triumphed in the hammer throw by 10 feet, 11 inches and claimed first place in discus by 9 feet. She finished third in the 200-meters with a time of 28.68 and was a part of the 4X100 relay team alongside Taliya Lunsford, Mahogany Thorpe and Alisha Barden that finished second (57.13). In the 800-meter run, Mathews came in third with a time of 2 minutes, 18.06 seconds.

The Rockets' girls track team finished third in Wednesday's quad-meet.

The 4x400 relay squad of Niklas Klums, Ethan Berven, Jon Lace II?and Blake VerMulm finished in sixth place in 3:55.86, while the relay comprised of Cole Keller, Ben Dunlap, Mason Griffin and Colby Weir finished 10th with a 4:08.53 clocking. Stamper placed second in the shot put event with a throw of 39-02.75.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Miles Garrett had a time of 16.93 that landed him in fourth-place and in the 300-meter hurdles, he just missed picking up the sixth-place medal by 1/100th of a second with his time of 46.44. Warwick's Kate Dickow outpaced McCaskey's Lianna Tirado in the 1,600-meter run, winning in 5:20.9 to Tirado's 5:31.4.

Distance runner Magen Elliott earned points with a fourth-place result in the 1,600 with a time of 6:26.94 and was fifth in the 800 (2:47.86).

Georgetown's Danielle Williamson placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:14.90.

"In the triple jump, Rodriguez placed fourth (32'-3 1/2"), Dietz finished in fifth (32'-2") and Priestly took sixth (31'-2 3/4").

The girls 1,600-meter relay team of Robinson, Holdmeyer, Mia Reed and McKenna Jacquin also placed fifth.
