  • Humanitarian aid sent to Gaza

The latter is where most foreign missions in the country are based because of ongoing disputes about the status of parts of Jerusalem by Palestinians, but U.S. President Donald Trump announced the move in December as part of an American decision to recognize the contested city as the capital of Israel.

Monday was also the 70th commemoration of the creation of Israel‚ a happy day for most Israelis‚ and which coincided with the opening of a new USA embassy in the city of Jerusalem‚ a holy place for the Jewish‚ Muslim and Christian faiths.

The dead from Monday's violence included eight children under the age of 16, according to Palestinian sources.

The Council of Ministers reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation of Israeli gunfire that killed scores of unarmed Palestinian civilians along the Gaza Strip border on Monday.

At the same time, Hamas, which has controlled Gaza for more than a decade, must not use the protests as cover to attempt to place bombs at the border fence and create provocations, he said, adding that Hamas operatives must not hide among the demonstrators and risk the lives of civilians.

In a statement he called on the worldwide community to "protect the Palestinian people, who have chosen the path of peaceful struggle and have been confronted with brutality, violence and murder".

"Who among us would accept this type of activity on your border? No one would", Ms Haley told the UN.

"They don't understand the difference, and Israel is losing points in the global community because of what is happening in Gaza".

Ankara has reacted with fury to the killings, which came on the same day as the USA formally moved its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.

Kuwait's Ambassador Mansour al-Otaibi and other ambassadors widely criticized the USA move at the meeting, saying it has the potential to ignite even more violence in an already unstable region. "It has served as Israel's capital since the founding of the state".

"I said I was going to withdraw from the Iranian deal cause it sucks and he did", Graham also said in referencing Trump's actions.

"But it's the worldwide community who can help".

Her cousin and her neighbor were killed by Israeli troops during the protest, she said.

State broadcaster TRT said the ambassador was being told to leave.

Israel has said it is acting in self-defense to protect its borders and communities and blames Hamas.

"Erdogan is one of the biggest supporters of Hamas, so there's no doubt he's an expert on terror and slaughter", Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel showed understanding for Israel's security interests in a call with Mr Netanyahu, but stressed that the violence should not be a means to achieving political goals, her spokesman Steffen Seibert said.

This after the USA blocked a UN Security Council statement calling for a probe.
