Cosby juror: I was convinced by comedy icon's deposition

The disgraced actor was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault in a Pennsylvania court on Thursday (26Apr18) for his January, 2004 attack on Constand, a former employee at Cosby's alma mater, Temple University.
Harrison Snyder, in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" that aired Monday, said he believed Constand's claim that Cosby assaulted her in 2004 at his home in a Philadelphia suburb.
The Post said it also interviewed Cosby past year during his first trial, which ended in a mistrial because of a hung jury.
The investigation into Cosby was reopened in July 2015 after a federal judge, acting on a request from The Associated Press, unsealed portions of Cosby's deposition testimony from a civil lawsuit he settled with Constand in 2006 for $3.4 million US.
Speaking out for the first time, the jury that convicted Bill Cosby at his sexual assault retrial said Monday it found the comedian's chief accuser to be "credible and compelling", adding its verdict had nothing to do with the #MeToo movement or any another factor outside the courtroom. In the testimony, which was read to jurors at both trials, he described giving quaaludes to women before sex in the 1970s.
"I don't really think it necessarily mattered that those five women were there, because (Cosby) said it himself that he used the drugs for other women", Snyder said.
Snyder's sentiments echoed similar statements from some jurors in Cosby's first trial, which ended in a mistrial and hung jury in June, who cited the sworn testimony that the comedy icon gave as part of a lawsuit accuser Andrea Constand filed against him in 2005, which later settled for almost $3.4 million.
Meanwhile, the jury forewoman released a statement to say that the verdict was based exclusively on the evidence.
Interestingly enough, the jurors also released an official statement and said the recent #MeToo movement was not an influencing factor as it wasn't discussed at all during the deliberation. His publicist called the conviction a "public lynching".
For his part, Snyder said that, before the trial, he "I didn't really even know about the #MeToo movement".
Prosecutors said they are confident Cosby's conviction will stand. He referred to prison as "that place".
Cosby had claimed the sex was consensual.
"I only found about it after I got home and looked online to see what everything was", he shared.
The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, as Constand did.
Snyder said he didn't know much about the 80-year-old comedian before the trial and knew nothing of the allegations.
