Rockets' Chris Paul ruled out for Game 6 against Warriors

  • NBA Playoffs Golden State Warriors at Houston Rockets

On Thursday night, in front of their home crowd, the Rockets will get the chance to take a 3-2 series lead back to Oakland.

It's hard to deny that the Houston Rockets have already had a remarkable season, but there's always been a sense that their season would ultimately be judged on the outcome of one series.

Needless to say, Twitter had some reactions to the NBA's most-hated team now being one game from elimination.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Houston Rockets game, Kerr said: "They're just playing to their fan base, and they're just basically trying to use the anthem as fake patriotism, nationalism, scaring people".

Green produced a costly turnover in their final possession of the game with just 6.2 seconds to go in the fourth quarter. Thompson finished with 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting in 39 minutes.

After hearing the news that Chris Paul won't suit up for Houston in Game 6, it'd be hard not to believe Green. The Houston Rockets are shooting 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and 79.6 percent from the free throw line. Golden State had one of the best offenses in National Basketball Association history this season, but over the last two contests, they've failed to average a point per possession.

Golden State's stars have been uncharacteristically bad in crunch time.

Durant didn't necessarily listen and in fact it looks the Warriors may not have been too happy with the footage being released, possibly due to the former fact. The Rockets' playoff opponent, the Golden Warriors, have a unique nickname for their lineup.

Thompson made a 3-pointer after that and then officials reviewed Paul's first basket of the quarter and ruled he got it off after the shot clock expired, leaving the Warriors ahead 80-79. In the final 4:50 of Game 5, Curry only took one shot-a missed floater-and had no assists. That's when Eric Gordon enters the game and Tucker plays the '5'.

Make no mistake: Much like in Game 4, when Houston punched back after taking a couple of good, old-fashioned Warrior haymakers, the Rockets earned every bit of this victory.

If he can't, the Warriors will again be at the mercy of the Rockets and the presumptive NBA MVP, Harden.
