That means reported plans for Obi-Wan and Boba Fett movies are apparently cosmic dust for now, according to Collider.

Future Star Wars spin-offs have reportedly been put on hold following the struggles of Solo: A Star Wars Story at the box office.

New rumors state that the Obi-Wan Kenobi film has lost its director, Stephen Daldry, and even worse, Lucasfilm is placing all planned A Star Wars Story movies on hold.

More than likely the reason Han Solo didn't perform that well is due to multiple reasons, with the biggest, at least IMO, being Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which was a spit in the face to all the Star War fans.

Solo ultimately went on to gross far lower than fellow spin-off Rogue One, and is set to be the first Star Wars film since the Disney takeover to make a loss.

It may feel like a long time ago and, definitely another galaxy, but it's only been five years and change since Disney purchased Lucasfilm and the Star Wars franchise for a mere $4 billion. Rogue One had multiple reshoots in the summer before the film's December release.

Maybe it's Star Wars fatigue (The Last Jedi came out just six months prior). That's true even if it occurs late in the game, like bringing in Tony Gilroy or Ron Howard. In its own fascination with Star Wars in your eyes until you can't see, Lucasfilm seemed convinced it could pull an MCU, forgetting the MCU has a cohesive, forward-moving story. "But Lucasfilm's main focus at the moment is planning the next trilogy after the Abrams-directed [Episode IX], which is expected to conclude the story of Rey (Daisy Ridley) that began with The Force Awakens". Great stories. And if the right filmmaker comes along and they have the right story that excites the story group, Kennedy, and the rest of the company, Lucasfilm isn't going to say no if it think it's the right thing to do.

We'll tell you more as it emerges. By planning for the new Johnson trilogy, and Benioff and Weiss series of films, we can look forward to something new and fresh.
