  • The Story Behind the Viral Photo of a Crying Child at the Border

Time Magazine's latest cover takes a shot at US President Donald Trump's border family-separation policy, one week after Trump wondered if he would be on the magazine's cover after the North Korea summit in Singapore.

Being in the cover of TIME Magazine, has been a long-running obsession of Trump throughout the years and it goes so deep that in at least five of his golf clubs, from South Florida to Scotland, he hung a Time magazine cover featuring a picture of a cross-armed Trump with the words: "Donald Trump: The "Apprentice" is a television smash!".

The issue carries the simple coverline, "Welcome to America".

Trump signed an executive order Wednesday to stop the separation of families at the border.

In the stark photo illustration, the towering figure of Trump looms over a sobbing child, who is the subject of a now-iconic photograph taken recently by Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer John Moore.

President Trump is seen looming over a crying Honduran child. "But I couldn't." The editors of Time recognized the power behind the image and made a decision to use it in their latest cover. But then, Moore told The Post, the woman picked up her daughter, they walked into the van, and the van drove away.

The photo shows the 2-year-old Honduran girl in tears as Border Patrol agents search and detain her mother in McAllen, Texas.

When Sandra left on her journey with Yanela, she left Hernandez behind with three other children - Wesly (14), Cindy (11), and Brianna (6). I asked her, why? "In the balance between the integrity of the USA border with Mexico and a parent's love for a child, where will we come down?" "I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!"

"I could see the fear on their faces and in their eyes". Last week, he snapped the photo that became one of the most influential images detailing the separation of families under the Trump administration's "zero-tolerance" policy.

The House will vote Thursday on two immigration proposals. The magazine refuted his story, saying that's not how it chooses people.

"This is the case for my daughter, but it is not the case for 2,000 children that were separated from their parents", Valera said.
