He said what really mattered were the behind-the-scenes working-level talks between Trump's and Kim's deputies, the details of which haven't been made public. And he did avoid donning a big smile when he first met and shook hands with Kim.

The two leaders signed a document pledging to work towards complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.

This is several light-years distant from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's pre-summit definition of the U.S. goal as "permanent, verifiable, irreversible dismantling of North Korea's weapons of mass destruction", which must happen "without delay".

The Korean crisis began to thaw at the start of 2018 when Kim announced his decision to resume talks on denuclearization.

In late May, Trump abruptly called off the meeting after North Korea made hostile remarks through its state-run media outlet. "The one that's always struck me most is this visceral instinct of people's weaknesses and a corresponding desire to be seen as strong and respected and admired". We produce something that is handsome.

But there is no indication that the two leaders discussed cybersecurity, worrying experts who warn that North Korea's cyberwarfare capabilities pose an immediate threat to USA interests that warrants high-level attention. "I want my people to do the same", he said. "We can schedule this meeting regardless of global events between our foreign ministries", he said.

Speaking with Fox News on the North Lawn of the White House, Trump defended his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying "they are already starting to produce the remains of these great soldiers". "The people of Asia feel safe and right now, the people from all over the world feel much safer than the days before I was president", Trump said.

Trump says: "Our world has seen more than enough conflict".

Despite uncertainties, Trump talked up the outcome of what was the first meeting between a U.S. and North Korean leader in six decades of hostility.

US and South Korean forces have trained together for decades, and routinely rehearse everything from beach landings in the North to pre-emptive "decapitation" strikes targeting the North Korean regime. "That sounds good. Maybe we are going to have to try it, '" he later said, recounting the outrage that followed.

"I saved us a lot of money". Chol saluted. Trump saluted back. In the film, which includes a montage of scenes featuring the two leaders, Trump said his trip was "worth every second", adding, "If there's a chance at peace, if there's a chance to end the disgusting threat of nuclear conflict, then we must pursue it at all costs".

Trump also said the Chinese are very happy with the North Korea summit. "If you can do that at 27 years old, I mean, that's 1 in 10,000 that could do that".

During his visit to Singapore, Trump showered praise on Kim, calling him a "very talented man", a "smart guy" and a "very good negotiator".
