Switzerland 2-1 Serbia, Shaqiri bags a late victor as Serbia concede one goal lead to suffer a 2-1 defeat.

Switzerland kept Serbia under pressure for the remainder of the game, and Xherdan Shaqiri broke through with the game-winner in the 90th minute. After nearly putting his side ahead with a curling strike that clipped the woodwork, the Swiss livewire scored the goal his performance deserved in the final minute of normal time. He was tenacious and dogged, and the Swiss defence will be relieved they do not have to face him again. Switzerland were terrific against Brazil and deserved their point - what they lack up front they more than make up for in the unyielding qualities of their midfield.

The Swiss went for a fresh pair of legs at half time as forward Haris Seferovic was hauled off after being fairly anonymous throughout the first period, Dinamo Zagreb striker Mario Gavranovic coming on. Jio TV and Airtel TV apps also have the rights to broadcast the match in India. They are making daunting run forwards and are wrecking havoc on the Swiss backline. The lineups of both the teams will be announced much before the match starts.

But when asked about the flags Petkovic insisted he will focus on Switzerland's performance.

Against Brazil, the 34-year-old stifled Neymar and Co.as the Europeans held out for a very commendable draw against one of the tournament's favourites, and that was largely due to the exploits of Behrami's hard-hitting tackles. They have played as many as 13 matches against their opponents for Friday, having lost just twice.

Xhaka struck the Swiss equalizer in the 52nd minute before Shaqiri scored a late victor when he broke free from the half-way line to slot past Serbian goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic.

With the match heading for a 1-1 draw, Xherdan Shaqiri raced through on goal in the closing stages of the match and squeezed home a decisive victor, leaving the Swiss just one win away - against a fragile Costa Rica side - from the knock-out stages.

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic said Thursday his Serbia side were ready for a "hellish" clash against Switzerland in a crunch Group E encounter tinged with political tension. Switzerland are on a continuous hunt for the equaliser, while Serbia are not giving away any chances.
