With Fortnite Playground Issues Continuing, Epic Replaces Another Limited-Time Mode

  • Fortnite players meeting at ‘the rocket’ for tomorrow’s first real time mystery event

While many expected the Fortnite Rocket to land somewhere on the in-game map, that doesn't appear to be the case.

This was done through a pod that came out of the rocket and smashed a laser into Tilted Towers. It doesn't seem like much of a stretch to assume that after pelting the map with meteorites last season, Epic will launch a rocket into the stratosphere this time around.

However, the Tilted Towers remain intact, with things getting a little odd before the portal in the sky popped into view and started to grow.

And if history tells us anything we should be seeing additional in-game hints regarding Season 5 in the coming days.

There have been a number of theories put forth on what Epic Games plans to do next.

Along with the sandbox-style Playground mode (which now remains offline while Epic irons out issues that cropped up shortly after it launched), this week's Fortnite: Battle Royale update marked the start of another limited-time event, Final Fight Teams of 12.

The mysterious announcement is likely referring to the launch of a missile, which many fans theorise will change the game forever. Unfortunately, Final Fight has attracted significant criticism in both of its variants: Teams of 20 and Teams of 12, the latter of which just went live on Wednesday. After receiving fan feedback, the developer has announced it is disabling Final Fight and replacing it with another iteration of the fan-favorite 50v50 mode.

One will be a 50v50 mode where one team controls the big Leviathan and has to escort him to Wailing Woods or Greasy Grove. Battle Royale, released in September 2017 by Epic Games, is a multiplayer online shooter game that puts 100 players on an island to fight to be the lone survivor.
